Located in Leesburg, Virginia, this 6,682 sq. ft. home’s classic log structure with extremely modern accents presented a unique blend of architectural styles, creating specific demands for the lighting design. SmartTouch implemented HomeWorks QS lighting controls and motorized shading in this unique home
One of the primary challenges was ensuring that the advanced capabilities of Ketra and the precision controls of HomeWorks QS seamlessly complemented the home’s aesthetic Every aspect of the lighting needed to enhance the home’s unique character while providing modern functionality.
Given the absence of interior designers, our team took on the responsibility of ensuring that the lighting controls and shades not only met the functional requirements but also blended harmoniously with the home’s design. This included selecting and programming the right components to create intuitive and user-friendly control interfaces.
Effective communication and coordination with the construction team and the client were crucial. Aligning everyone’s expectations and ensuring that all technical requirements were met involved constant collaboration and regular updates.
Our team successfully implemented a sophisticated and user-friendly lighting and shading solution that beautifully integrates modern technology into a classic log structure, exceeding the client’s expectations and enhancing the unique charm of their home.
We collaborated closely with multiple professionals on this project to ensure the client’s needs were met. We worked very closely with the builder, Gruver Cooley, with whom we have built a great relationship over several projects. Gruver Cooley has their own team of interior designers who played a crucial role in the project. They assisted us with keypad colors and selections, as well as construction details for recessed shading, ensuring a seamless integration of technology and design.
We also brought in Pete from Conceptual Lighting, a highly respected lighting designer, to collaborate on the Ketra design and selection. Pete’s expertise was invaluable in choosing the right Ketra lighting solutions and other recessed and accent lighting throughout the home.
By working together with these talented professionals, we were able to deliver a sophisticated and beautifully integrated lighting and shading solution that exceeded the client’s expectations.
